How to Stop Feeling like a Failure

🎶 "When it feels like you’re up against a giant wall

Or you’re dealing with an unexpected fall.” 🎶

From the song “Ignite Hope”, by Suzan Alakas

Are past failures holding you back? 🤔

Do you ever feel like you’ve failed - whether as a mom, entrepreneur, or even in pursuing your creative passions?

Many of us carry limiting beliefs, like “I’m not good enough,” or “I always mess things up,” or even “I should just quit now because I’ll never get it right.”

These thoughts can hold us back, but guess what? Failure isn’t the end—it’s just part of the process! ✨

In this blog post, I’m excited to share three powerful ways to reframe failure so that you can keep growing and moving forward with confidence and courage. Let’s dive in!

1. You’re Not Failing—You’re LEARNING 🧠

Let’s start by challenging the idea that you’ve failed just because something didn’t go as planned.

Think of a baby learning to walk—do we ever say that they’ve failed when they fall down? Of course not! They’re learning, practicing, and developing new skills, and that’s exactly what you’re doing too.

As adults, we often forget that learning is a process. Whether in business, health, relationships or any other area of life, we are constantly growing and evolving.

So the next time something doesn’t go as expected, remind yourself that you’re not failing—you’re simply learning a new skill.

Every step, every stumble, is bringing you closer to mastering it. 🌟

2. Failure is Proof of Your COURAGE 💪

Another powerful reframe is seeing failure as evidence of your courage. (Yes, you read that right!)

When you put yourself out there, take risks, and try something new, you’re being brave. You’re stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing growth, and that’s something to be proud of!

As money mindset coach, Taylor Eaton, beautifully put it: “Failure is showing that you’re courageous.”

It’s a reminder that every time we “fail,” we are simply leveling up into the next version of ourselves. We’re not staying stuck in the familiar; we’re venturing into new experiences, identities, and opportunities.

So, the next time you stumble, celebrate it as a badge of courage. You’re doing the hard work of growth, and that’s amazing. 🤩

3. Embrace the SUPER MARIO Effect 🎮✨

Finally, let’s talk about the Super Mario effect! Imagine playing a video game, like Super Mario, where your character jumps and falls, jumps and falls again. Do you quit after the first fall? No way! You get up, learn from where you fell, and try again. Each time you play, you improve a little more until you succeed.

This same mindset applies to life and business.

Every time you “fail,” you’re gathering feedback, learning what works and what doesn’t, and getting another chance to try again.

How fortunate are we that we don’t end up at the bottom of the pit, game over, after one setback? Instead, we get countless opportunities to get it right, to grow, and to reach our goals! ✨

In Summary

So, the next time you feel like you’ve failed, remember these three reframes: You’re learning, you’re courageous, and you’re getting better with each try.

Just like the lyrics say, “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.” 😎

Failure is not the end; it’s a stepping stone to success.

I hope these reframes help you shift your mindset and see your so-called “failures” in a new, empowering light.
